The 2017 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cricket League (WCL) – East Asia-Pacific regional qualifier began on Sunday the 19th of February and concluded on Saturday the 25th of February in Bendigo. Six teams took the field including Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Samoan, 36th ranked Fiji and 32nd ranked Vanuatu.

The competition acted as a qualifier for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Five competition. Vanuatu after their fourth placed finish in the 2016 ICC WCL Division 5 started the tournament as favourites with Pacific Island rivals Fiji and Samoa looking to re-enter the World Cricket League after falling out of the WCL in 2015 and 2012 respectively. Japan who also played in 2012 was the only other team with World Cricket League experience.

The competition was be played in Australia in Bendigo, Victoria. Six grounds were used throughout the week with teams playing five matches in seven days. This was the largest ICC EAP 50 over international tournament since the 2009 ICC EAP Trophy.
